Asus ROG's first chassis fan, the Strix XF120, was noisy at just 22.5 decibels

In recent years, the ASUS ROG series has been continuously expanding its product line. Its product range is no longer limited to the high-end board cards or notebook computers in our impression. New products are continually being developed in PC peripherals, cases and AIO integrated water cooling product lines. Now, the Asus ROG has launched its first chassis fan: the ROG Strix XF120 12CM, opening up a new category of the product line.

The XF 120 is a high-end performance fan with Maglev bearings, seven blades made of reinforced fiberglass, and a shockproof rubber pad at the screw position. The fan speed's operating range is extensive, from 1800RPM to 250RPM, the right choice for case fans. Usually, the case fan and the CPU radiator fan have different speed control to solve the heat transfer problem inside the whole machine with the appropriate speed, so more emphasis is placed on the balance of air volume and silence. High-end cases also tend to have more fan locations, with a low enough RPM range meant to give users peace during daily, low-load use.

Meanwhile, the XF 120 fan operates at a noise of 22.5 dB at maximum RPM, delivers air volume of 62.5CFM, and static pressure of 3.07mm H2O while achieving an average failure-free time of 400,000 hours. The XF120 offers excellent acoustics in addition to superior performance and durability. Due to material reasons, a genuinely high-quality fan will not be equipped with an RGB light effect; the XF 120 is the same. Asus has yet to announce the fan's price, which is expected to go on sale in the first half of this year.
