After a period of preparation, HBO Max launched on May 27, replacing HBO NOW. It still comes in at $14.99 a month, and existing HBO Now direct billing subscribers can get HBO Max for free.
Today, HBO Max officially announced a new round of shows list, including films and TV series, to meet the different choices of audiences with various tastes. Let's take a look.
LET THEM ALL TALK
First of all, one of the most important films is Let Them All Talk directed by Steven Soderberg and starred by Meryl Streep, Gemma Chan and Lucas hedges. Although the plot is still unknown, with Soderbergh’s outstanding scheduling ability, these actors would have good chemistry with each other.
THE UNDOING
The Undoing is a 6-episode series starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Noah Jupe, similar to Big Little Lies. It tells about the heroine living an ideal life: She had an excellent husband who was a successful psychotherapist, and an outstanding son who was educated at an elite private school. She was about to publish a book on gender issues. The book mainly reprimanded women for not observing their instincts and failing to see what the male partner meant. LOVECRAFT COUNTRY
Lovecraft Country is based on the fantasy/horror novel of the same name written by Matt Ruff in 2016, featuring a variety of unidentified monsters, so it’s a must-see film for Kesulu fans! The story is set during the 1950s when the Jim Crow Act was implemented. Atticus Black, a black man, together with his friend, Letitial and his uncle George set out on the road to search for their missing father across the United States. They had to overcome the oppression brought about by white supremacy and fight against evil forces.
THE THIRD DAY
The Third Day is also a 6-episode series focusing on an isolated and mysterious island off the coast of the United Kingdom. Sam, starred by Jude Law, entered this strange world and encountered residents with strange customs, who secretly lived on the island. Then the boundary between reality and fantasy in Sam's mind began to blur, causing his trauma of the past to reappear. He clashed with the islanders.
RAISED BY WOLVES
Raised by Wolves tells that two robots are given orders to nurture the offspring of humans on a mysterious planet. With the disintegration of religious differences, the robots find that controlling human beliefs is extremely dangerous.
Doom Patrol Season 2
Doom Patrol is rated as one of DC's strongest live-action success stories. Now Season 2 is on the way. Every hero in this series has a tragic life experience and shortcomings in ability. They are called by Cyborg and led by The Chief to investigate strange phenomena and protect the earth.
