Microsoft’s Project xCloud Comes to Android on September 15th

Microsoft will launch Project xCloud on September 15th exclusively on Android devices.  

What is Project xCloud?


Project xCloud is Microsoft's game streaming service. For $14.99 a month, you'll be gaining access to a giant library of games, Xbox Live Gold, and xCloud, including Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Halo Wars 2 etc. Microsoft also promised that there will be more than 100 games available on Android tablets and phones.

How to get Project xCloud? 


Project xCloud is not available on IOS at present. If you have already signed up for a xCloud account, you will be able to play immediately it is launched. Also xCloud will be bundled as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, so having subscribed means owning cCloud.

Where is Project xCloud available? 


Project xCloud is currently expected to launch on September 15th in 22 markets for Android, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.  

What are the supported controllers?


You’ll be able to use existing Xbox One controllers or even Sony’s DualShock 4 controllers to play games on xCloud. Also announced today was a new line of made-for-Xbox accessories that make Project cCloud compatible with mobile platforms.

Microsoft is also partnering with Razer, PowerA, 8BitDo, and Nacon to create all-new accessories specifically designed for cloud gaming. These include different types of phone clips that adapt to a wide range of devices, travel controllers that fit in any bag, and exclusive Xbox-branded controllers that split apart and attach to the side of your phone.
