The Jelly Pac-Man developer was acquired by Epic, and I smelled the scent of restrictions

Epic Games announced that it had acquired Tonic Games Group, the parent company of Jelly Pac-Man: Tonic developer Mediatonic. After the acquisition, Epic will focus on bringing the game to as many platforms as possible, with the original team and the versions sold on Steam remaining the same.

Jelly Pac-Man is currently only available on PlayStation and Steam and is scheduled to launch on NS and Xbox this summer. Those plans remain the same, and content updates for all platforms will continue as usual in the future. Epic Games is likely to bring Jelly Pac-Man to be mobile, but due to the controversy between Epic Games and Apple, it's unclear whether it will still be available on iOS.

In addition to Jelly Pac-Man's maker, Tonic Games Group owns studios that published The Ironic Corporation and Fortitude Games, among others. Tencent's share price is expected to rise (it bought a 48.4% stake in Epic Games for 330 million yuan in 2012).

Most subtly, when asked if the game would be made free to play, the team responded that it would not be "at the moment." Players, friends, do you understand?
